shape and color explination

Pieces like this I usually don't consider art, but there is a strong sense of shape and color manipulation to express feeling to the viewer. This piece is painted in warm colors, expressing a stronger energy. The bold strokes of red and orange are very intense and depict anger or a bold "in your face" emotion. The strokes are very broad and forced on the canvas with rigid edges and no blending suggesting chaos or anxiety. There is a strong contrast between the negative and positive space that also supports this theory along with the general shape used being square.
